Great Bay: the "house beach" of Philipsburg on Dutch St Maarten

Paralleling Front Street in Philipsburg, facing South, lies Great Bay Beach. The beach is long over a mile, and wide. So there is plenty of fine white sand to lie on.

Great Bay is conveniently located for vacationers staying in one of the hotels, resorts or guesthouses in downtown Philipsburg. Same is true for the shoppers whoŽd like to combine a day of bargains and lazying by the beach.

The waters are clear and calm. Great Bay is ok for swimming, but also a favorite place for beach strollers, as you can watch the coming and going of cruise ships in the harbor.

You have just to cross Front Street in Philipsburg, and after a few steps, you will find yourself right on the beach - bars, restaurants and entertainment all nearby.
