Guana Bay: a beach with a good surf on Dutch St Maarten
Guana Bay does not provide much shade, but it has a surf that makes it attractive for body boarding and surfing. The beach is large and almost deserted. Not too many people take the rough road over the hills to this shore Northeast of Philipsburg.

Once you are there, you will enjoy a fabulous view of St. Barth's in the distance, less than 15 miles away. Guana Bay is a secluded beach, with no bars, no "LoloŽs", no amenities, and no service.

So remember to bring your own cooler with food & drinks, and enjoy the rugged beauty and great waves of this beach.

Access to the Guana Bay road is behind the Great Salt Pond of Philipsburg. Coming from Pondfill road and heading North to Oyster Pond, after approximately 1/2 mile youŽll see the sign for Guana Bay, where you have to turn right.
