Simpson Bay Beach

Simpson Bay: a lovely, deserted beach on Dutch St Maarten

Simpson Bay, by the Princess Juliana airport (SXM), is a long curve of white sand beach, next to a charming fishing village. The wide and flat beach runs from the Royal Palm Beach Club past The Horny Toad Guesthouse and Mary's Boon Beach Plantation to Beacon Hill along the back of the airport.

Although the beach is lovely, it is frequented only by few, and is well worth the visit for lovers of deserted beaches. It has some watersports, yet it is still a quiet and relaxing beach.

Access to Simpson Bay Beach is possible either from the Mary´s Boon Beach Plantation or from behind the Pizza Hut, off Airport Road.

The drawbacks of this nice beach is a bit of airplane noise, and that the waters at its one mile long stretch of sand can be rough.
